Yin Yoga Level 2

Neuroscience - Myofascial Release - Working with Minimal Props

Neuroscience

Are you interested in learning more about neuroscience but find it a bit daunting?
In this course we’ll focus on what’s most relevant, and break it down to make it easy and accessible. You’ll learn how to teach it and practice it in accessible and inspiring way
Why neuroscicene? Our movement is affected by our muscles and fascia but is also controlled by our brain and nervous system. We do a lot of work stretching and strengthening our muscles and fascia (lower order systems) but not so much directly focussed on the brain and nervous system (higher order systems). If we work on these “higher order systems” we can get big shifts very quickly. This is so fun and inspiring to teach and can help you to get your spark back as a teacher and give your students something new and exciting.

Myofascial Release

Another way we can get big shifts in our movement patterns is through myofascial release.
Why Myofascial Release? Using two tennis balls we can do incredible body work on our selves. It can have a huge impact on tension and pain. Learn how to weave this through your yin classes giving you and your students a deeper level of connection and understanding of your body and your practice. We will look at this in relation to the Anatomy Trains lines.

Minimal Props

Making yin yoga accessible and comfortable to all can be tricky if you’re working with minimal props. In this session we will look at what you can do with just a yoga strap. So many very easy but effective ways to use straps in your yin yoga practice and teaching.
